Community Involvement
The club has a long history of community involvement from taking part in town festivals to charity fundraisers.
2009 the club re-established links with the LiosnagCon Ringfort Project and assisted in the clear up of the site. The club has also joined forces with the Clonakilty Youth Cafe as an ongoing initiative to support the young people of Clonakilty with providing a venue for them to congregate. The club staged a Variety Night in June with their winning drama production to raise funds for the West Cork Rapid Response Service. For the 2009 Know Your Neighbour Weekend the club held a successful sandcastle competition at Inchydoney beach and barbeque later in the evening.
2008 saw the club embarked on an ambitious project with Save the Asian Elephant Organisation. The Asian Elephant Project which saw the creation of a herd of Elephants was a tremendous success. To mark the Sixtieth Anniversary of the club a T.Y. public speaking competition was also run in 2008 with clubs from second level schools in West Cork competing.
The club took part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Clonakilty in 2007. In the summer the club held a second family fun day for KYN and also ran a Down Syndrome Ireland HB Sunday.
In 2006 the club ran a family fun day for the Know Your Neighbour weekend.
In September 2005 the club ran a five-a-side soccer fundraiser to raise funds for the missions of Papaya New Guinea.
In 2000 the club introduced the first West Cork Inter School's Quiz which has grown over the past eight years to include participants from all the West Cork second level schools in this table quiz competition.
